Best Swiss London Dry Gin awarded to Edelwhite

It was with pride and excitement that Barb and Sandra travelled to London England to receive the prize of Best Swiss London Dry Gin. The formal dinner was held at the Honourable Artillery Company in the heart of the City of London.

In November 2017 Edelwhite Gin met the deadline to enter their freshly distilled Batch 2 gin in the World Gin Awards. After 3 months of waiting and anticipation they received the news that Edelwhite Gin won in the category „Best Swiss London Dry Gin.“ This was their second award after the Bronze Medal at the IWSC (International Wine and Spirits Competition) in July 2017.

Round Robin Competition, may the best Gin win

The knock out process of the World Gin Awards means that the over 400 entries are tasted by gin professionals, and eliminated step by step. After the final round (Round 1) the Country Winners in each category are crowned. The last round judges (Gin producers and distillers) then decide who will become Category winners in the categories- World Best Comtempory, London Dry, Flavored, Old Tom, etc.

Mingling, Networking and of course a few G&T’s

During the formal dinner, Barb and Sandra took the time to do some ever important networking. It was rewarding to meet people from all ends of the world- from New Zealand to Brazil and everywhere in between. It was an honor to sit beside Master Distiller, John McCarthy of Adnams Distillery, one of the many legends attending the awards dinner. (winner of the IWSC World’s Best Gin in 2013).

Celebrations through the Steets of London

After the ceremony, Barb and Sandra used their time wisely in London to visit a list of renowned Gin Bars to speak with bartenders as well as bar-guests about Edelwhite Gin. All in all their trip proved to be a success, and memorable, in many ways.
